The Best Trainer Ever Program starts at the beginning of the discipline with topics and techniques every trainer should be using everyday
- no matter the level of experience

The course raises the bar on trainer engagement & creativity with live video recorded practice sessions for classrooom critique.

[1] Where Do I Start?

[FREE ONLINE SEMINAR]
You just got the job?
You just got the assignment?
You want to start off on the right foot?

Get answers to your most important questions and get a good idea of what to do right away, and what can wait.

[2] Terminology - Common Ground

What the heck are all the 'inside-the-industry' terms? Learn the talk so you can walk-the-walk. A comprehensive glossary of terms, meanings, usages, and examples of the terms in action.

Master this and you are half way to Expert!

[3] Your Role as a Trainer (Facilitator)

Contrary to popular and misguided practice - you are not supposed to be star of the show! To be effective in the art & science of imparting new knowledge, skill and ability into another human being is to be a conduit, not a performer.

Practicing your new skills with video critique.

[4] Content Development Basics

Practice the ADDIE & SAM methods of development management. Learn how to analyze a performance deficit and put together plans on closing the gap. Introduction to Kirkpartick's Model of measurement for beginning with the end in mind.

Become familiar and practice content delivery modalities that are targeted for specific results.

[5] Basic Adult Teaching Techniques

Androgogy (adult learning) is not the same as (Pedagogy) child learning. Many mistake this fact and develop content that doesn't work quite right.

A child's brain and an adult's brain don't work the same way.

Focus on what the adult learner is seeking and you will knock it out of the park!

[6] Course Materials for Attendees

Chances are you are not a graphic artist and just plop everything into a Word doc with clip art. This is kind of sad, really.

Use design templates that are clean, crisp and easy to use - for both you and your end user. Learn some core design concepts so you can create your own templates.

[7] Presentation Methods & Tools

Use the rule of threes and tricks from Steve Jobs and others to present multi-media (or lectern static) presentation in large or small venues to keep your participant locked into your content delivery.

[8] Your Presentation Style

How you present yourself, what you look like - the time in the program when you roll-up your sleeves should all be tactical and with purpose. Vocal variation, non verbal and your style will be practiced and honed with video review / critique.

[9] Classroom Management

Not everyone learns at the same pace, nor is everyone in your training voluntarily. Learn and apply how setting expectations solves many of the issues. For those participants that just won't cooperate, use some methods so your classroom stays on task.

[10] Preparing the Room

There is power in using room arrangements to your advantage. What to set out and when. Where small break-out groups gather and present are all important considerations for effective delivery of your content. Don't get me started on table layout!

[11] Practice & Critique

After all, this is about expert trainers training beginner trainers in the ways and means of changing behavior in other human beings. Go from zero to room breakdown with video critiques and challenges to hone your skills.

[12] Assessments & Kirkpatrick Model

How do you know when or if your training intervention was even successful? Kikpatrick's measurement model is the backbone of planning and implementing a method of certification that provides hard evidence of learning and behaviorial change on the job.
